Presbytery Transitions

 

COM/CPM TRANSITIONS

 

September 20, 2017

The following pastoral transitions were approved under the COM report:

1. The Presbytery approved the honorable retirement of David VanDonkelaar, effective August 1, 2017.

2. The Presbytery approved the Interim Pastor contract between the Session of First Presbyterian Church in Sapulpa and Elaine Cervini, effective July 23, 2017.

3. The Presbytery approved the dissolution of the pastoral relationship between Wambugu Gachungi and First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa, effective July 31, 2017, due to the requirements of immigration services.

The following transitions were approved under the CPM report:

1. Julia Metcalf (member at First Presbyterian Church in Tulsa) was enrolled as an Inquirer, effective September 12, 2017.

 

June 3, 2017

The following pastoral transitions were approved under the COM report:

1. The Presbytery approved the call of Michael Manaugh as Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Durant, effective June 4, 2017. He will be enrolled as a member of the presbytery, pending his release from Indian Nations Presbytery.

2. The Presbytery approved the Interim Pastor contract between the Session of First Presbyterian Church in Bartlesville and Stephen Carl, effective May 8, 2017.  He will be enrolled as a member of the presbytery, pending his release from Detroit Presbytery.

3. The Presbytery approved the dissolution of the pastoral relationship between Wally Johnson and First Presbyterian Church of Sapulpa, effective May 31, 2017, and his transfer to the Presbytery of Peace River, upon their request.

4. The Presbytery approving the change of Wambugu Gachungi’s status at First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa from Designated Associate Pastor to Associate Pastor, effective June 1, 2017.

5. The Presbytery reports with sadness that Dr Donald Roulet (HR) passed away May 27, 2017.

The following transitions were approved under the CPM report:

1. Minwoo Kim (member at St Andrews Presbyterian Church in Tulsa) was enrolled as an Inquirer, effective April 8, 2017.

 

March 7, 2017

The following pastoral transitions were approved under the COM report:

1. The Presbytery approved the change of Leigh McCaslin’s status at John Calvin Presbyterian Church of Tulsa from Interim Pastor to Temporary Pastoral Service, effective January 1, 2017.

2. The Presbytery approved the dissolution of the pastoral relationship between Hanna Shearer and First Presbyterian Church of Bartlesville, effective March 20, 2017, and her transfer to the Presbytery of the Northwest Coast, upon their request.

The following transitions were approved under the CPM report:

1. C. Shawn Allen withdrew from candidacy (and from the care of Eastern Oklahoma Presbytery), effective November 28, 2016.

 

December 6, 2016

The following pastoral transitions were approved under the COM report:

The Presbytery approved the service of James Allen as Commissioned Ruling Elder for First Presbyterian Church of Nowata, effective October 26, 2016.

The Presbytery approved the merger of Bethany Presbyterian Church of Muskogee and First Presbyterian Church of Muskogee, effective January 1, 2017.  The new congregation will be known as Presbyterian Church of Muskogee and will worship at 2000 Haskell Blvd, Muskogee, OK.

The following transitions were approved under the CPM report:   (none)

 

September 17, 2016

The following pastoral transitions were approved under the COM report:

1. The Presbytery approved the transfer of Lucus Levy Keppel and Elana Keppel Levy from Sierra Blanca Presbytery and their call as Co-Pastors for Trinity Presbyterian Church in Bixby, effective August 14, 2016.

2. The Presbytery approved the transfer of Kate Hogue from John Calvin Presbytery and her call as Associate Pastor for John Knox Presbyterian Church of Tulsa, effective September 16, 2016, pending her ordination by Eastern Oklahoma Presbytery.

3. The Presbytery approved the transfer of Don Best to John Knox Presbytery, pending their request, so that he may accept a call as Pastor for Bethel Presbyterian Church in West Union, IA.

4. The Presbytery approved the service of Melinda Hunt as Commissioned Ruling Elder for First Presbyterian Church of Broken Bow, effective September 18, 2016.

The following transitions were approved under the CPM report:  (none)

 

June 4, 2016

The following pastoral transitions were approved under the COM report:

1. The Presbytery approved the call of Wambugu Gachungi as Designated Associate Pastor for First Presbyterian Church in Tulsa, for the Tulsa International Fellowship, effective March 16, 2016.  He will be ordained June 12, 2016.

2. The Presbytery approved the transfer of D. Scott Vandenheuvel from Blackhawk Presbytery and Rev. Vandenheuvel’s call as Pastor for First Presbyterian Church of McAlester, effective July 1, 2016.

3. The Presbytery approved the transfer of Tim Blodgett from Indian Nations Presbytery and Rev. Blodgett’s call as Pastor for Southminster Presbyterian Church of Tulsa, effective June 1, 2016.

4. The Presbytery concurred with the request of the congregation to close First Presbyterian Church of Broken Arrow on June 30, 2016.  Further, the Presbytery dissolved the congregation’s pastoral relationship with Mike Barron, also effective June 30, 2016.

5. The Presbytery accepted the resignation of Rev. Sandy Harris in Temporary Pastoral Service with First Presbyterian Church of Broken Bow, effective May 2, 2016.

6. The Presbytery concurred with the Interim Pastor contract between AnnAline Drake and First Presbyterian Church of Sand Springs, effective May 22, 2016.

7. The Presbytery concurred with the change of Lynn Simpson’s status at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Tulsa from Interim Pastor to Temporary Pastoral Service.

8. Having found his call in order, and having been previously certified as ready to receive a call, the Presbytery approved plans for the ordination of Joel Wood and his transfer to Charleston Atlantic Presbytery.  He will serve as Associate Pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Hilton Head Island, SC.

9. Having found her call in order, and having been previously certified as ready to receive a call, the Presbytery approved plans for the ordination of Olivia Lane and her transfer to National Capital Presbytery, where she is serving as Chaplain at Georgetown University in Washington DC.

10. Having found her call in order, and having been certified as ready to receive a call earlier in this meeting, the Presbytery approved plans for the ordination of Sarah Chancellor-Watson and her transfer to South Louisiana Presbytery, where she will serve as Associate Pastor at St Charles Presbyterian Church in New Orleans, LA.

The following transitions were approved under the CPM report:

1. Sarah Chancellor-Watson (St James Presbyterian, Jenks) was certified as ready to receive a call, effective June 4, 2016.


March 1, 2016

The following pastoral transitions were approved under the COM report:

1. The Presbytery concurred with the dissolution of the Temporary Pastoral Service contract between Leigh McCaslin and First Presbyterian Church of Wagoner, effective December 31, 2015.

2. The Presbytery concurred with the Interim Pastor contract between Leigh McCaslin and John Calvin Presbyterian Church of Tulsa, effective January 1, 2016.

3. The Presbytery concurred with the request to transfer Michele Goff to the Presbytery of Santa Fe.

4. The Presbytery concurred with the part-time Interim Pastor contract between David Smith and First Presbyterian Church of Durant, effective January 1, 2016.  David is a member of Grace Presbytery, but will have the privileges of temporary membership in Eastern Oklahoma Presbytery for the duration of his service in Durant.

5. The Presbytery concurred with the interim pastor contract between Jeff Cranton and Bethany & First Presbyterian Churches of Muskogee, effective December 1, 2015.

6. The Presbytery concurred with the call of Raymond VandeGiessen as Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Miami, effective May 8, 2016; the Presbytery also approved his transfer from Palisades Presbytery.

The following transitions were approved under the CPM report:

1. Joel Wood (First Presbyterian, Tulsa) was certified as ready to receive a call, effective March 1, 2016.

2. Cory Bys (First Presbyterian, Tulsa) was enrolled as a Candidate, effective March 1, 2016.
